The HAAKE VT550 viscometer is specifically suited for viscosity measurements of
particulate suspensions and slurries using standard sensors to provide relative or
absolute results which are highly reproducible. The HAAKE VT550 viscometer:

  • Provides data to allow accurate modeling of pumping slurries and suspensions
  • Can be operated manually by an integrated key pad or computer controlled
  • Measures yield points using Controlled Deformation (CD) mode
  • Measures inhomogeneous materials with particles in mm size
  • Records flow curves automatically to monitor the flow behaviour of a liquid or
    paste
  • Has interchangeable rotors to extend the measuring range and application
  • Can be upgraded to a coaxial cylinder or cone and plate viscometer

The HAAKE VT550 viscometer is supplied as a package to meet the requirements of
viscosity measurements of construction materials. It is the industry standard for high
quality viscosity measurements. It is a sturdy and professional instrument that offers a
wide range of sensors to suit numerous applications.

The Haake VT550 ViscoTester is a rotational viscometer specifically designed for
quality control applications of fluids, slurries and suspensions.

A rotational speed is preset and the flow resistance of the sample is measured
(torque required) to maintain the set speed, which is proportional to the viscosity.
The results are displayed digitally and can be printed simultaneously.

The viscometer will measure samples from thick to thin, such as oils, paint, ceramic
slurry, pastes, creams, PVC plastisols, or mineral slurries.

The ViscoTester 550 provides flow curves, yield points, time curves, and
temperature curve results.

The modular design of the HAAKE VT550 system allows the use of nearly any
known sensor. For example:

  • Coaxial Cylinder sensors according to DIN 53018 and ISO 3219. Exact
    temperature control can be provided by use of a heating and/or cooling
    circulator
  • Immersion sensors according to DIN 53019 and ISO 3219
  • Cone-and-plate sensors according to ISO 3219 and parallel plate sensors
  • Relative sensors according to ISO 2555
  • Special immersion sensors for highly filled samples or containing large
    particles, for the determination of the yield point
